4 Days / 3 Nights Cultural and Wildlife Experience 

Trekking in company of Maasai tribesman as your guide. 2 nights spent in complete wilderness on mobile camping. Combine trekking and wildlife safari on foot into your own unique holiday and experience Africa with your Maasai guide in a traditional way – the real African way. On this trekking journey, you will experience pure adventure covering on foot approximately 10 to 20 km a day. (The routs can be slightly adjusted according to your physical strength). Throughout your journey, you will get the experience, learn and see the way of the Masai people in a totally unique way as these original inhabitants of the area will act as your guides, sharing with you their knowledge and stories of the areas you’ll pass.

The journey comes with full vehicle support for your comfort and safety. While you are Trekking ahead with your guide the support team will be busy behind the scene at all time, setting up your bush camps allowing you to put your feet up and take in the surreal and beautiful surroundings at day’s end. The only requirement for this trek would be a little spirit of adventure. Anyone in an average physical walking condition should have no problem as routs lead thru relatively flat grounds.

DAY 01: MAJI MOTO ECO CAMP

(CAMP ORIENTATION & BUSH CRAFT SKILLS)

Departure from Nairobi at 8am and arrive for lunch at Maji Moto Camp. Afternoon spent in camp orientation, guided Nature Walk and Maasai Cultural briefing with fire making presentation “Maasai style” followed by winding down the day with campfire stories. Dinner and overnight at MAJI MOTO ECO CAMP

DÍA 02: MAJI MOTO – LOITA HILLS & PLAINS

(WALKING WITH THE MAASAI)

Breakfast and depart Maji Moto on foot in company of your guide. The full expedition and the camp travels along as you move. Support vehicle carries camping gear, food supply and kitchen equipment while guests carry their own day-pack only. The path will lead you through hills, valleys and plains of The Loitas. The wildlife population here is occasional, but surely, you will be rewarded by presence of it on the way. You will be passing Maasai settlements, learning about their lives and culture. For your safety, we are taking Maasai guards walking along, together with Flying-doctors evacuation services included. Dinner and overnight at a BUSH-CAMP.

DÍA 03: LOITA HILLS & PLAINS

(WALKING WITH THE MAASAI)

Full-day spent on walking-safari, through Loita Hills & Plains, getting to know the African nature, wildlife and Maasai culture in depth. BUSH-CAMPS – Each day your camp will be moved forward to meet you on the way, ready with freshly prepared and hot meals for your arrival. The camps are quite basic, but equipped with everything necessary that you might expect from these rough surroundings. Camping chairs and tables are provided, to be served with hot meals. The tents, you’ll sleep in, are 3-man dorm-tents, equipped with camping-matrices, pillow and beddings. Solar-camp-shower will be organized, except the toilet which will be out in the vast-nature of the Maasai. All you need to bring along is your day back-pack (20lit) to carry your sweat-shirt, jacket and drinking water.

DAY 04: LOITA HILLS & PLAINS – DEPART TO NAIROBI

Morning walk to meet the safari vehicle. Say bye to your trekking guides. drive to Nairobi with a stop at the Great Rift Valley view point. Nairobi, Kenya’s Capital, is a well-planned modern city of over two million inhabitants.  It is justly described as a garden city as its broad avenues are lined with flowering plants and shrubs. Situated at an altitude of 1600 metres, it enjoys hot sunny days and cool evenings. Places of interest to the visitor include the Municipal Market, the ornate Jamia Mosque and the National Museum with its adjacent Snake Park and Aviary.  There are several art galleries exhibiting work by local artists, displays of tribal dancing, two theatres, and variety of good restaurants and wealth of fascinating curio shops. Later transferred to the Airport for your departure flight. Distance 270 kms 4.5 hrs drive.

Please note; 

  • Non A/C Vehicles are used for transfers in cities and on Safari in Kenya
  • Luggage limit of one soft bag per person during travel in Kenya. Hard cases should be avoided as they cannot fit in safari vehicles.
  • Baggage allowance for domestic flights is 15kgs per person including hand luggage. Soft-sided luggage or duffels are preferable to hard luggage for storage on safari vehicles and aircrafts used within East Africa. Large suitcases of dimensions greater than 24″x 17″x 7″ are impossible to store in vehicles and on aircraft and should not be used. (Baggage and personal effects are at owner’s risk throughout the tour and baggage insurance for members is strongly advised).
  • The rate includes accommodation based on the hotels and lodges mentioned in the program using standard rooms. Please be advised that the maximum singles the lodges can give is 4. The rest are charged as doubles.
  • ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION: In the case of a confirmed booking being re-routed for whatever reason we will endeavour to move guests to an equivalent level property subject to availability and with prior agreement with the operator/agent and we reserve the right to do so in the best interests of all concerned

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Contract variations

The contractual costs mentioned above in this agreement are subject to change without prior notice; however, every effort will be made to maintain them. In the event of a change in Government Taxes or Levies affecting the rates mentioned herein, Campofrio Safaris has the right to pass on any increases to our Partners or Clients.

Payment Policy

A deposit of 35% is required at the time of booking.  The balance of 65% is due 45 days before commencement of the tour program.  If the reservation is made within 45 days of departure the whole amount must be paid at the time of confirmation.

Children Policy:

Children between the age of 3 and 12 years

  • Pays 60% of the adult rate if sharing a room with two adults
  • Pays 80% of the adult rate if sharing a room with another children
  • Pays 100% of the adult rates if sharing a room with one adult
  • No discount on Holiday and other supplements

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing. As all suppliers charge cancellation fees, they are in turn passed on to us.

Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in number of occupancy are subject to cancellation and no-show fees. Following is the scale for cancellation charges:

  • 35% if cancelled between 45 and 35days prior to arrival
  • 50% if cancelled between 34 and 15 days prior to arrival.
  • 100% if cancelled 14 days and 24hours prior to arrival

Itinerary Changes:

Although every effort is made to adhere to schedules, it should be noted that the hoteliers in East Africa may be obliged to occasionally change routes on safaris as dictated by changing conditions.

Such conditions may be brought about by seasonal rainfall on bush tracks, airfields and in game areas, by game migrations from one region to another, or airline or other booking problems, etc. Campofrio Safaris will communicate with you for such tour itinerary/tour program or accommodation changes

NOTE: – Please note that some bookings might straddle between two seasons. Making the below seasonal quotations on accommodation NOT APPLICABLE. In such cases, please contact us for TAILOR-MADE QUOTATIONS cutting across seasons.
